Whether it\u2019s property or people, you don\u2019t need anyone\u2019s permission.<\/p>\n<p>Some people are going to tell you that you can\u2019t take photos of private property, such as bank buildings and people\u2019s houses. So long as\u00a0<em>you<\/em> are on\u00a0public property, you can.<\/p>\n<p>This means that you can take photos in public libraries, museums, government buildings, from the street and anywhere else public. The only case where you can\u2019t take pictures is if there\u2019s a specific law that prevents such shooting.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]There is no expectation of privacy in a public place, If your eyes can see it then you can video or photograph it, No permission is required. You do not have to identify yourself to anyone unless there are reasonable grounds to believe that you are committing or about to crime.<\/p>\n<p>If a building official states that their policy does not allow video in their publicly accessible\u00a0 areas then you should remind them that their policies cannot transcend the law.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]You\u2019re also allowed to take photos in private property that is open to public, such as shopping centers, malls, pubs, restaurants, etc. You will, however, have to stop if the owner\/management ask you to. Sounds fair enough to me.<\/p>\n<p>You don\u2019t need a person\u2019s consent to take their photo if they are in a public place. They do, however, have a reasonable right to privacy, so you can\u2019t be intrusive if they\u2019re in a private place, such as their own home.<br \/>\nThis means that, if they\u2019re walking down the street, you can take their photo.
